This datasheet is for version 24.0 of the the Mozilla Common Voice Scripted Speech dataset for Bamvele (beb). The dataset contains 7481 clips representing 11.34 hours of recorded speech (10.22 hours validated) from 33 speakers.

Language

Bebele also known as Eki or Bamvele is an endangered indigenous language of Cameroon which belongs to the Niger-Congo language family, according to Ethnologue online. Breton and Bikia Fohtung (1991) identify Bebele as a dialect of Beti-Fang language. Whether a language or a dialect, Bebele is indigenous to a population located in the Upper-Sanaga Division in the Center Region of Cameroon.
